(Water at your Table) at the Imperia Book Fair

The 2007 edition of the Imperia Book Fair schedules the initiative “Isola dell’acqua”, (Water Island) including discussions, conferences and a photographic exhibition on the subject of water. On Saturday 2 June at 10.45 a.m. Giorgio Temporelli will present the publication “L’acqua in tavola” (Water at your table) published in the Fondazione AMGA collection.

The Foundation at the Science Festival

Also this year the Foundation takes part in the Festival della Scienza (Genoa, 26 October - 7 November 2006), within the event “Ambigua, sfuggente e... vitale” focused on the gaseous matter.
The initiative, promoted by the DCCI (Department of Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry of the University of Genoa) in cooperation with Air Liquide Italia spa, Fondazione AMGA and Società Chimica Italiana, shows the different research steps on this subject, starting from perception of air in ancient times up to the present and describing how gases are important in everyday life and for our wellbeing.
An exhibition of instruments, ancient books and explanatory posters will be held at the Sant’Ignazio complex in Via Santa Chiara, showing the properties and history of some gases; young and adults are guided through multimedia tours, prepared by Air Liquide, to discover gas production and use.
The Foundation contributes to the exhibition with some items from the Gas and Water Museum.
The initiative also includes experiments, advisory conferences  (advisory conference calendar) organised at the Sant’Ignazio complex and technical conferences (technical conference calendar) organised  at the Department of Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry.

Project “Percorsi d’acqua”

The Foundation, in collaboration with the Province of Genoa, started for the school year 2005-06 the training project Percorsi d'acqua (Water paths).
The project includes 11 training modules on different water issues. Training material, including access and evaluation tests, activities and in-depth investigations, is provided to all the teachers participating in the programme.
In this framework a CD-ROM version of the web multimedia tool "Scopri l’acqua con Lina" (Discover water with Lina) and the interactive poster on the whole water cycle "L’acqua addomesticata" ("The tamed water")  have been produced for the schools of the Genoa district involved in the project.
Furthermore, in cooperation with the local Environmental Education Centres guided visits are scheduled to the more significant sites of the Genoa district.
